My Top Ten Baby Shower Gift Ideas

A lot of my friends and family have been having babies lately and I've had lots of presents to buy so I thought I'd give you a run down of what I think are among some of the best gifts you can give someone for their baby shower.

The Magic Mitten is a fab little hand held baby calming aid that plays various different white noise sounds that only your baby can hear when you hold it to their ear. It's brilliant for using when you're out and about and need to soothe your baby to sleep and i think it would make the perfect baby shower gift.

Baby clothes always make good gifts and my favourite range at the moment is the Little Bird range by Jools Oliver for Mothercare. The range is very retro inspired but still has a modern feel and I think the hat and sleepsuit sets would make a lovely gift for someone's little one.

The My 1st Heartbeat baby heartbeat recorder from My Baby Log is a fab and unique idea for a gift and is a lovely keepsake as you can record your unborn baby's heartbeat on it and keep it forever in it's beautiful box which features a lovely poem inside.

Also from My Baby Log are the Inkless Hand & Foot Print Kits which also make lovely keepsakes and are perfect to keep in these beautiful Memory Keepsake Boxes which are big enough to keep all of your baby's special items throughout their childhood.

It's important not to forget the Mum when giving baby shower gifts so I recommend the Cussons New Mum Firming Butter and Boob Firming Serum so that she can feel pampered after giving birth and lets face it everything needs firming after having a baby, these are both available from Boots.

A really useful baby shower gift would be Sock Ons which you put on over your baby's socks and they stop them from falling off which can be a common problem with kicking babies, they also make Mocc Ons which are adorable moccasin style slipper socks, both come in a range of colours and are available to buy from Amazon, Babies R Us, Sainsbury's and Mothercare.

Another useful gift is this Brother Max Ray Bath And Room Thermometer, it has a LCD screen display and measures the temperature in both the baby's room and in the bath. It's one of those items that are incredibly useful to have but isn't something you always think of to buy when you're having a baby. You can buy this in Mamas & Papas, Tesco, Amazon and Kiddicare.

A brilliant gift for first time parents is The Essential Baby Care Guide which contains 4 DVDs which demonstrate everything you need to know to look after your baby in their vital first 12 months and is also available as an App. The guide covers sleep, first aid and accident prevention, feeding and care and development and is introduced and narrated by Professor Robert Winston. Having your first child can be quite overwhelming and I think having something like this on hand for any difficulties you may encounter would be really handy.

Some lovely products for the baby are the Halos N Horns Baby Bath and Moisturising Lotion, these products are designed to be very gentle so as not to irritate your baby's skin and they're not tested on animals which is always a good thing, although they are designed for sensitive skin it is recommended that they not be used on your baby until they are at least 4 weeks old. You can buy Halos N Horns from Boots.

And last but not least are these adorable newborn shoes, the Bobux New-B shoes are for babies aged 0-6 months and provide a natural cocoon for freedom and protection for newborn feet. I think these would make a perfect baby shower gift, they come in a wide range of different colours and are available to buy from

I hope my baby shower gift guide was helpful, let me know if you can think of any other great gifts that I haven't included in this post or if you've given any of these items as a gift.

The items in this post were given to me for purpose of review but all thoughts and opinions are 100% honest and my own.
