Last week we were invited to visit the Santa's Grotto at Intu Derby, not only do the children get to meet Santa, have their photo taken with him and get a gift, they also get to attend Elf School with Professor Elf-a-lot and graduate in Elf-ology as a fully qualified Santa's Helper. We couldn't wait to go and check it all out.
We had a time slot booked so there was no waiting around and the first thing we did when we got in was sit around a big blackboard while Professor Elf-a-lot taught us all about Santa with some fun quiz questions and then he did a bit of a magic show which the kids loved. There was lots of interaction with the children during the show and all of the kids seemed to really enjoy it.
The Elf School lasted around 10 minutes and then we went on to the next room where all of the kids got their certificates and their elf hats which were so cute.
Next we went in to see Santa who was really lovely, the kids told him what they would like for Christmas and we all sat down with him for a photo. We then went into the next area where the kids could choose their gift according to their age group, Riley and Summer both chose some activity books with crayons, stickers and colouring sheets which they were really pleased with.
You could buy your photo in all kinds of different formats and we chose a bauble so that we could put it on our tree every year.
We really enjoyed Santa's Grotto at Intu Derby and I'd recommend giving it a visit this Christmas. Tickets for the grotto are just £6 and you can book online or at the grotto itself which is situated on level 2 next to The Body Shop.
